Celebrating after the Greater Westchester Youth Orchestra Association's annual Lewis-Lionti concert
Over the past 12 years teaching clarinet, every single one of my students has been unique in personality and learning style. I take a lot of pride in figuring out how I can best help every student excel at the instrument and form a bond with music.
Many of my students have earned All-State recognition in New York, achieved the highest honors in NYSSMA festivals (New York State School Music Association), performed with the Greater Westchester Youth Orchestras Association, or continued with music in college as a major or non-major. It's very rewarding to help them achieve their goals.
Equally meaningful for me is working with adults who are getting back to the clarinet after a long time away, or starting new.
Above all, I'm grateful to every one of my students for the joy they've brought me through working with them.
I am on the faculty of the Music Conservatory of Westchester in addition to maintaining a private studio at my home in Peekskill, NY. Previously I have taught at the Cortlandt School of Performing Arts, the Harmony Program, and the Oberlin Community Music School, and have been a guest artist at the Manhattanville College Clarinet Day.
